Seated Ganesha

The blank was chosen for a straight run of grain through the torso, so the figure reads as one piece rather than a laminate. Roughing took four days; the crown and the lotus base another eleven.

The polish is built up in eight passes, cut back with pumice between each, which is what gives the surface depth without gloss.
